Student Assistant (m/f/d) in Science Communication / Communication Design

Location: Ludwigsburg | Remote possible

 

Are you passionate about science communication and love creating visual content? Then become part of our interdisciplinary team!

We are looking for a student assistant from the field of communication design or a related discipline to support us in the development and implementation of communication materials for research projects and research environments.

 

Your Tasks:

  • Design of infographics, presentations, illustrations, and other visual materials to support our research projects

  • Contribution to the visual identity of Open Science initiatives

  • Close collaboration with researchers and other designers in the team

  • Creative translation of complex scientific content into clear and engaging visuals

 

Your Profile:

  • Currently enrolled in a degree program in communication design, visual communication, or a related field

  • Strong skills in common design tools (e.g. Adobe Creative Suite, Figma)

  • Excellent English skills, both written and spoken

  • A good eye for layout, typography, and visual storytelling

  • Interest in scientific topics and in making complex content accessible

  • Independent and structured way of working – the position can be carried out remotely

  • Compensation starting in the summer semester 2025:

    • Student assistants: €13.98/hour

    • Assistants with a bachelor's degree: €14.87/hour
      (based on the official rates for student assistants from the Ministry of Science, Research and the Arts)
