September 2023

Climate Adaptation Week 2023 - Join the ParKliBlitz!

We are increasingly feeling the effects of climate change on our own doorstep: extreme weather events such as persistent heat and drought periods, heavy rainfall events, forest dieback or tilting lakes.

But what can each individual contribute so that climate impact adaptations can be developed?

As part of the research project "ParKli - Participatory Climate Research" funded by the Baden-Württemberg Foundation, we would like to develop local measures for adapting to climate change together with citizens and actively involve them in ParKli as citizen scientists.

The ParKliBlitz expands the concept of the traditional BioBlitz by integrating the central topics of the ParKli research project - biodiversity, water and city.

The ParKliBlitz is a great opportunity to get actively involved in environmental protection and to understand the impacts of climate change in your region.

On Thursday, 21.09.2023, we will meet at 17:30 in Böblingen to carry out an action together. However, this meeting is independent of your own ParKliBlitz. Please contact us if you would like to participate in the ParKliBlitz. We can exchange ideas in an online meeting and work out a scenario together and discuss open questions.

When can I collect data?
The ParKliBlitz will take place from 18.09. - 21.09.2023. You can collect data during this period for the ParKliBlitz, but of course also beyond. All apps can be used at any time, even beyond the ParKliBlitz period.

On-site meeting on 21.09.23, in Böblingen:
- When? 17:30 - 19:30 h
- Where? Meeting point at the upper lake near the boathouse (Mönchweg 6, 71032 Böblingen)
